Philando "Phil" Gene White

Philando Gene “Phil” White, (The Road Trip Vegan) son of Phyliss J. White and the late Phillip D. White was born on June 30, 1973 in Kansas City, Kansas. Philando’s goal in life was to uncover beautiful locations less traveled on this planet in search of vegan cuisines and raising knowledge about alternative living. His pursuit to reach that goal ended, for him, on September 7, 2023.

Early in life Philando developed neighborhood friendships that stayed intact over the years. His friends Eric, Robert, Calvin, Quincy, James, Elijah, Reginald and Terrance remember him as a brother.

Philando loved music and was an excellent string and percussionist musician. He was a successful entrepreneur and used his creative mind to be an extraordinary employee learning many trades.

“Peace and love”, was not just a quote but a message he lived daily. As the owner of Platinum Performance and a courier contractor he did not meet a stranger. He was intentional about relationships with family and friends and made everyone feel like they were his best customer, family member or friend.

“Stay happy”, was not just a statement but what he did, with music playing in the background, while cooking vegan foods, enjoying nature and building a life that he mapped out for himself. He said, “it’s simple, you don’t need a lot to be happy.”

The smile Philando wore can be attributed to the love he received from his Mom. Her message to him at least twice a day in words and deeds declared to him, "How much I love him for being himself. That I am proud of his relevant, consistent, positive and improved achievements that he made in his lifetime - with his mind going a mile a minute." I would say to him, "I see you, relax and he would calm down". Philando became a man of "instinctive thoughts for improvement".

Philando loved his family. He was the only child of his mother Phyliss J. White and also leaves his maternal grandmother Hattie L. Williams. His sisters and brothers of his late father mourn his passing along with host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
