Pete Seidel

Charles Elver Seidel passed away Thursday the 10th day of October 2024 at his residence. Charles was born on February 13, 1940 in Chula, Missouri to his parents, John Elver Seidel and Nigel Thelma (Dayton) Seidel. Most people knew Charles as “Pete,” his nickname. Pete graduated from CHS in 1958 and upon graduation he joined the US Navy and headed to training in California. He served in the US Navy until July 1962, and during that time with the Navy he toured Japan and Australia.

Charles met Mary Frances Ripley shortly after being discharged, and they were married on November 29, 1962. Pete was a member of the Methodist Church in Chillicothe. He was also employed at Chillicothe Municipal Utilities until his retirement in 2006.

Pete was preceded in death by his two sons, Michael Paul in 2024 and Charles David in 1964; as well as his two sisters, Wanda Minnick (Bob) and Arva Paschang (Walt); his parents; and in-laws, Harold and Vivian Ripley.

He is survived by his wife, Mary F. of the home and several nephews and nieces.

A graveside service for Pete will be held Thursday, October 17, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Edgewood Cemetery, 1350 Edgewood Drive, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601.
