Graveside service at Mt Olivet Cemetery 7601 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City MO. 64138. Funeral dinner to follow graveside service at Blue Springs Elks Lodge, 100 NE Brizendine Rd, Blue Springs Mo.
Patrick was born in Garnett, KS, the son of Reeves and Winnifred Claxton. Life wasn't easy growing up. His father walked out on the family that left him and his brother Jim in a boy’s home for seven years. He graduated High School from De La Salle 1953 and joined the Navy, he was stationed in Norfolk, VA. After the Navy he attended Rockhurst College.
He is preceded in death by his mother, his brother James and sister-in-law Diane Claxton.
He leaves behind his wife of 55 years Mary Claxton, four children, Kyla Glaser (Jeff), Steve Claxton (Chris), Paula Claxton, Patti Claxton (Nancy). His grandchildren, Jeremy Glaser, Jake Glaser, Kelsey Claxton, Connor Claxton, Chris Thomas and Sara Thomas, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jim and Barbara Cummings and brother-in-law James and sister-in-law Mary Tuter. Many nieces and nephews. He was employed at Best Foods as a salesman for 20 years, then sold real estate.
After retirement he enjoyed attending his grandson's sporting events and loved playing golf. He was also a Chiefs season ticket holder for 25 seasons. He was a member of The Knights of Columbus, American Legion and Blue Springs Elks Lodge.
Patrick was always full of life and was quite the storyteller. He was loved and will be greatly missed by all.
