Odell Louise Eubank, 92, of Kansas City, MO, passed away March 2, 2015. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. followed by funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 7, at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Rd. Burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Mrs. Eubank was born December 22, 1922 in Moberly, MO, daughter of Marvin G. and Mary Ellen (Kirkendoll) Dameron. She graduated from Moberly College in 1942. She married Wallace K. Eubank on July 14, 1946 in Moberly, MO.
Odell began working at Rock Island Railroad until she and her husband moved to Kansas City where she began working for Kansas City Terminal Railway in 1947 as secretary to the Chief Engineer, retiring in 1985. After retirement, Odell enjoyed golfing, bowling and traveling the world. She belonged to numerous social and philanthropic organizations throughout the years. But what brought the most joy in her life was her love for her children and her family. She enjoyed hosting family holiday celebrations and was always aware of others who might be alone and made sure they were made welcome to join in with her family. Odell was a member of the Leawood Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Wallace K. Eubank, in 1979, her sister, Marjorie Johnson, and brothers Cecil and Eugene Dameron. She is survived by her children Alva Eubank (Nancy), Nancy LaScala, Sandra Eubank, Michael Eubank (Janet), and Randall Eubank (Carolyn); ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was a wonderful and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who will be forever in our hearts.
