Neal graduated from Raytown South High School in 1978 and then served in the U.S. Navy with the rank of 2nd Class Petti officer. He was stationed for six years in Hawaii as an Aviation Electronics Technician. He recently joined the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary, 8th District Western Rivers Region Division 31, Flotilla 1.
Neal was the owner of Pitcher Perfect Lawn Service before becoming a Tax Accountant and Financial Advisor with Stribling and Pitcher in Raytown, MO.
Neal married Laurie Branstetter on March 4, 1995 in Kansas City, MO. Neal and Laurie moved to Lee’s Summit, MO in March of 1999 and bought a home where they raised their children.
Neal was a devoted father who enjoyed traveling with his family, teaching his children how to surf, scuba dive, and ride dirt bikes. He was an avid collector of anything that caught his fancy (which earned him the nickname, “Pan Man”). He never met a person who wasn’t a friend and he enjoyed people with a zeal for life which caused everyone who knew him to smile.
Neal is survived by his wife, Laurie, son Robert and daughter Emily, all of the home, his brother, Charles Pitcher and wife Patty, cousin MaryAnn Comerford and husband Paul, mother-in-law Wanda Kays and husband Jackie, sister in-laws Terry and husband Pat and Susan and husband Chris along with many nieces and nephews.
Neal was preceded in death by his mother and father.
As a husband, father and friend, Neal will be so deeply missed.
