A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 3, 2023, at United Methodist Church of the Resurrection, Leawood, Kansas.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Church of the Resurrection Department of Student Ministries or Congregational Care Ministry.
Myron was born on February 8, 1941 in Wichita, Kansas. He graduated from Wichita State University and the University of Kansas School of Medicine. He was member of Beta Theta Pi. He was a family medicine specialist and emergency/urgicare physician.
He was a multi-instrumentalist and singer. He played bugle in the Wichita American Legion Drum and Bugle Corp, and trombone through high school in marching band, concert band, and orchestra. He was selected multiple times to play trombone in the Wichita Youth Symphony, and had the honor of being the drum major of the Wichita East High School marching band during his senior year. As an adult, he sang with the Wichita barbershop chorus, was the “lead” in a quartet called Nightwinds, and served as President of the Central States District of the Barbershop Harmony Society.
He served in the Army from 1971 to 1973.
After moving to Leawood in 1992 and joining Church of the Resurrection, he became actively involved in many areas of service, particularly as a congregational care minister.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Loren and Elma, and his daughter, Laurie. He is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Joyce, his son, Tracy (Sandy Spatz), and grandchildren, Brandon Wilson, Emma and Seth Hultgren, and Katy Hoffmeier.
