Miguel Silva Lopez

Miguel Silva Lopez, 67, of Kansas City, Missouri passed away on March 11, 2024 surrounded by his family. Miguel was born in Mexico City, Mexico on September 2, 1956 to Jose Guadalupe Lopez and Elvira Silva Lopez. Miguel and his family moved from Mexico to Kansas City in the late 1960’s. He was married to his long-time love and wife, Teresa L. Lopez, for 49 years. He was a devoted father to Michael, Mark, Angela and Jessica Marie. He was also an amazing grandpa to his 8 grandchildren, Mahalia, Michael, Angelo, Alex, Vincent, Ayana, Yasmine and Cesar, whom he all adored. He also had many nieces and nephews that he loved very much.

Miguel was a hard worker for Musselman and Hall contractors as a heavy machine operator from the early 1980’s until retirement. Miguel Loved spending time with his family, going on vacations, anything to do with cars and enjoyed all styles of music. Miguel was also a pet lover and leaves behind his pet cat, Romeo.

Miguel was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Mark Lopez; and daughter, Jessica Marie Lopez. He is survived by his loving wife, Teresa Lopez; his two children, Michael (Elizabeth) Lopez and Angela (Ruben) Batrez; and his daughter-in-law, Vanessa; his 8 grandchildren; his five brothers, Serafin (Lupe), Juan (Manuela), Arturo, Jose, and Alfonso; and four sisters, Guadalupe (Antonio), Virginia (Alberto), Maria, and Angelica (Carlos), whom all surrounded him in his last days.

Visitation will be held 5:00 – 6:30 p.m. and Rosary at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, March 18 at McGilley Antioch Chapel, 3325 NE Vivion Rd., Kansas City, MO 64119. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 19 at Redemptorist Catholic Church, 3333 Broadway, Kansas City, MO 64111, followed by interment in Mt.
