Michael D Wilson

Michael Devoe Wilson, 71, of Kansas City MO, joined his wife, Mariella, in Heaven on Saturday, May 23, 2020. Michael was born to Betty Meyer (Schryer) and Bill Wilson in Kansas City, Missouri on January 16th1949. After graduating from Westport High School (Class of 1967) Michael married the love of his life Mariella on May 5th, 1967. Michael lost his love to a long and courageous battle against lung cancer in January 2019 after 52 years of marriage. The 16 months following Mariella’s passing took its toll on Michaels heart. His broken heart was compounded by his progressing heart failure, which is ultimately what took him from us. Michael was proceeded in death by his wife Mariella, father Bill Wilson and step father Waitmen Meyer. Michael is survived by his mother Betty Meyer, brother Henry L Meyer, his children; Melinda Wilson, Matthew Wilson, Marcie Taulbert (Son in Law Brad) and Tony Wilson; Grandchildren Monica Mastroianni (Husband Nick), Connor Taulbert, Carson Taulbert, Taylor Wilson and Devoe Wilson; Great-grandson Easton Mastroianni. Step-Brother; Troy Wilson. We cannot forget his “Boys” Buddy and Willie who were his puppy companions and his many friends and extended family that will miss him. Although Mike could be hard headed and point blank, he will always be remembered as a loyal son, devoted husband, caring father, adoring grandfather and overall good man. Michael will be missed by many but all should have peace knowing he has reunited with his beautiful rose.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, June 13, 2020 at Abundant Life Baptist Church 414 SW Persels Rd, Lee’s Summit, Missouri 64081. Family will accept visitors starting at 10:00, Service at 10:30. Please note: GPS might take you to the wrong building. It's the third church building on the right, just past the house.
