Maxine K. Cook, 95, died January 16, 2021 in Lee’s Summit, MO. She was born February 25, 1925 in Cooper County, MO to her parents, Adolph and Edna (Martin) Kahle. She attended Zion Lutheran School in Lone Elm, MO and graduated from Bunceton High School in 1943.
Maxine was married to Leslie L. Cook on December 21, 1946 at Zion Lutheran Church in Lone Elm, MO. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Kansas City, MO from 1947 to 1968, and a member of Peace Lutheran Church from 1968 until her death.
Maxine was a full-time homemaker for many years. Later she became an Administrative Assistant to the City Collector of Raytown, MO.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie Cook in 1998; and great-grandson, Lincoln Hurst in 2014.
Maxine is survived by two daughters, Sandra (Greg) Galvin of Lee’s Summit, MO and Beverly Shine of Durango, CO; sister, Joan Hurt of Boonville, MO; sister-in-law, Cynthia (Michael) Lyster of Naples, FL; six grandchildren: Julie (Chris) Brown, Amanda (Seth) Shine, Melanie (Cory) VanPelt, Kevin (Cherith) Shine, Scott (Jenny) Shine, and Tracie (Will) Hurst; 17 great-grandchildren: Hailey and Ethan Giboney, Jakob and Ethan Brown, Elliot, Anina and Gillian Sanford, Landry and Kinley VanPelt, Noah, Reuben, Daniel and Caleb Shine, Lily and Evan Shine, and Hazel and Haddie Hurst; and nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Friday, January 22, 2021 from 10-11 AM, service 11 AM, at Peace Lutheran Church, 8240 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, MO. Graveside Service will follow at Floral Hills Cemetery, 7000 BLUE RIDGE BLVD, KANSAS CITY, MO.
