Maureen Ostrander, 80, Liberty, passed away January 21, 2019 after an extended illness. Memorial Service is Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 2:00 PM at McGilley Antioch Chapel, 3325 NE Vivion Road, Kansas City, MO 64119. The family encourages those attending to wear Maureen’s favorite color, red or anything Elvis. Following cremation, Maureen will rest in the arms of her loving family.
Maureen was born March 2, 1938 in Kansas City, MO to John and Lenora (Fine) Cropp. Following high school, she pursued an education in nursing and became a Licensed Practical Nurse. She proudly worked many years as a nurse at Spellman Memorial Hospital, North Kansas City Hospital, and KU Medical Center.
Her home was a tribute to Elvis, with music and memorabilia through out. She loved drinking Diet Coke. Prior to her illness, she loved to travel, including visits to Egypt, California, Hawaii, and a yearly pilgrimage to Graceland in Memphis. She was passionate about music and loved to attend concerts, such as Elvis, Neil Diamond, Bob Seger and Cher.
She cherished spending time with her family and friends.
Maureen is preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Libby Sharp. Survivors include her grandson, Vincent Dominick; cousins Florenda, Tony, Zac and Shelby Jarrard; and many other family members and friends.
