Mary Kay Burrows, 90, died Monday, December 3, 2012, at her home in Phoenix, Arizona. She was born on December 26th, 1921, in Pittsburg, Kansas. She moved to Beaumont, Texas, in her teens and returned to Pittsburg her Senior year of High School. Mary Kay was married to William Lewis Wilson Jr. during World War II. She moved to Norfolk, Virginia and worked for 'Patton's Army' as a PBX operator and he served overseas in the U.S. Navy. After the war they moved back to Pittsburg, Kansas and shortly thereafter to Kansas City, Missouri. She had three sons: William Lewis III, Mark and Kevin. After her husband's death in 1965, Mary Kay dedicated her life to raising her boys with the help of her family, friends, and her church family at Ruskin Heights Lutheran Church. She married Norman Burrows, a U.S. Navy veteran, in 1978. They shared many happy times together including trips to the Gulf Shore and spending time with both of their families and friends. Shortly after Norman's death in 2000, Mary Kay moved to Phoenix, Arizona. Besides her family, Mary loved the following: Vermont, Texas, Texas blue bonnets, Kansas City, Smokestack BBQ, cats (Tillie & Sis), dogs (Lilly), birds, flowers, the Gulf Shore and her many friends in Kansas City. Mary Kay is survived by her brothers and their families, John and Mary Clark, and Gerald and Sally Clark. Her three sons and their families are: William Lewis Wilson III and Maureen Wilson, Dr. Mark Wilson and Karen Wilson, and Kevin Wilson and Lucyna Pancegrau. She also leaves behind many other family members, including five grandchildren, three great grandchildren, the Norman Burrow's family and the David Pohl family, The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 8th, at Ruskin Heights Lutheran Church, 10801 Ruskin Way, Kansas City, Missouri, 64134. Graveside services will be held immediately after at Mount Moriah Cemetery, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri, 64131.
