Bob is survived by his girlfriend Sherry Mason; daughters Stephanie Bueneman and Leslie Vogelsmeier; three grandchildren, Alex Bueneman (Anastacia), Shelby Doutt (Kris), and Haley Vogelsmeier (Geoffrey Roberts); two nieces Debbie LeBourveau (Richard) and Terri Latta (Terry); and one nephew Ronnie Ring (Sheri). He is preceded in death by his mother and father June and Dick Richardson, and sister and brother-in-law Patty and Ron Ring.
Bob was born in Marshfield, MO on April 27, 1942. He lived in Missouri and Oklahoma while growing up. Eventually, the family settled in Independence, MO. Bob graduated from William Chrisman High School in 1960. After earning a bachelor’s degree from Central Missouri State University in 1964, Bob became a computer programmer. Over the years, he worked for many companies including Hallmark and DST. At one time, Bob was an entrepreneur opening and running Bob’s Boats in Oak Grove, MO for a few years in the 1980’s.
Bob had a deep love for his family. He enjoyed family celebrations, attending his grandchildren’s athletic games and performances as they grew up, and spending time with his girlfriend Sherry. Following family tradition, Bob enjoyed going to Las Vegas at least once or twice a year. As he got into his 70’s and 80’s, these trips turned into day trips to the casino with his mom, sister, and girlfriend.
Anyone who met Bob knew of his love for fishing and hunting. He spent countless hours out on the water fishing with friends and family. Pomme de Terre was his favorite place to fish and he even kept a travel trailer there so he could stay for days at a time. Muskie fishing was his favorite and one that he shared with both his brother-in-law, Ron, and nephew, Ronnie. For Bob, a bad day on the lake would always be better than a good day at work.
A celebration of Bob’s life will be at 10:00 am on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at Floral Hills Funeral Home, Kansas City, MO.
