Lorene was born on November 9th, 1923 in Amsterdam, Missouri where she was raised on the family farm. She graduated in 1941 from Amsterdam High school. In 1942 Lorene moved to Kansas City and started working at Montgomery Wards Distribution as on order filler, where she worked for the next 16 years. She joined Melrose United Methodist church where she was a member for over 60 years. She taught Sunday School and was active in many groups including Harmony Circle, UMW, the Blackard Class, and would make apple butter for the annual Church bazaar.
Lorene met the love of her life, Robert Arnold, at Lynn’s Market on St. John in 1957. The two were married on July 7th 1958 at Melrose United Methodist Church. A son and daughter were added to the happy family in the following years.
Lorene wasn’t only an active church member. An avid KC Royals fan since 1969, Lorene watched or listened to every single game. She was also an enthusiastic gardener, caring for many plants and trees. She mastered the art of canning many fruits and vegetables from her harvests. Her favorite yearly activity though was Christmas Cookie baking, a now cherished family memory.
She was a natural-born caregiver; raising her two children, helping with her granddaughter and two great grandchildren, even getting to watch her two great-great grandsons grow. She was so beloved, and will be missed dearly.
Lorene was preceded in death by her father and mother, two sisters, and her husband.
Survivors include; son Robert D Arnold of Raymore MO, daughter Elta Arnold of Grain Valley MO, granddaughter Christina Caraballo(Ulises) of Grain Valley MO, great granddaughter Danica Caraballo of Grain Valley MO, Great Grandson Devin Caraballo(Marissa) of Gladstone MO, and great-great grandsons Valentino and Lorenzo.
