Linda Jo Burdick

Linda Burdick, 67, of Gladstone, MO passed away Saturday, March 26, 2016 in Gladstone after a lengthy battle with cancer. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 from 11am - 2pm at Antioch Bible Baptist Church, 800 NE 72ndStreet, Gladstone, MO with the Funeral Service immediately following, from 2 - 3pm.

Linda was born March 27, 1948 in Nevada, MO to J.B. and Betty Friar Helm. In 1952, their family moved to Kansas City, and in 1966 she graduated from Park Hill High School. On September 24, 1966 she married Jerry Alan Burdick in Kansas City. Linda completed her Bachelor’s degree in 2000 from Park University. She worked at Waddell and Reed as Senior Retirement Plans Consultant/Department Facilitator until she retired in January 2016 after 30 years of service. Linda enjoyed her work and was very active in her church, Antioch Bible Baptist Church in Gladstone. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She enjoyed arts and crafts, flower arranging, sewing, and music; singing and playing piano for many years. She was very hospitable and always made sure her extended family and friends were comfortable in her home.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Jerry Burdick; parents, J.B. and Betty Helm of Kansas City; son, Steven Burdick and Lora Williams of Pleasant Valley; daughters, Jennifer & husband Shane Stewart of Parkville, Emily & husband Clay Vogl of Columbia, MO; grandchildren, Sydney and Samantha Stewart, August Vogl, and Erica Williams; brother Landon Helm & wife Julie of Minneapolis, MN; sister Joyce Gray & husband Scott of Kansas City, and a large extended family.
