Levi was a gifted athlete. He went to state championship with Independence Youth Wrestling, played football for Pop-Warner and was an All-Star catcher for Queen City Ravens, who went undefeated with Levi as the Captain during his final season with the team. Besides loving sports, Levi shared a passion with his mother for fishing; he especially enjoyed spending time on the lakes and the rivers and catching lots of fish. He also loved driving his car, listening to rap music and hanging out with his many friends and large family. He was an amazing big brother to his younger siblings who will miss his mentorship and love. He was quick to smile and had an empathy for others beyond his years. Levi was fiercely loyal and protective of those he loved as he was a compassionate young man who cared deeply for others. He struggled with the recent passing of his mother and his grief was too much for him to bear.
He is preceded in death by his beloved mother, Anna Marie Callicoat Jennings, his grandmother Melissa Mae Jennings, grandfather Marvin Callicoat, and his uncle Darrell Harden.
He is survived by his father Andrew Kyle Levi Jennings; brothers Kash Ocobock, Dameko Jennings, Quincy Jennings and Landon Carpenter; sisters Brooklyn Jennings, Casey Carpenter and Ariona Washington; stepfather Cody Carpenter; grandfathers Darrell Dickerson and Charles Baker; grandmothers Karen Rice and Stephanie Carpenter; great grandparents Paul and Collene Baker. He is also survived by aunts Shikira Hoy (Ronnie), Tonita Dickerson, Jeannie Hood (Cody), Kelly Jennings (Sergio), Jessica Olgren, and Cassidy Baker; and uncles Dalton Dickerson and Kyle Baker. Levi was well loved by his large extended family of great aunts, great uncles and adoring cousins, of whom there are too many to name individually. He considered many close family friends honorary members of his family.
Special mention for Levi’s great aunt and uncle, Peggy and CJ Walcott, who were extremely close to Anna, Levi’s mother. In fact Anna was more often at their house while she was growing up than her own. Given this special relationship, there was no question that CJ and Peggy would welcome Levi and Brooklyn, with open arms, into their crowded home when Anna passed unexpectedly 10 months ago.
Our family grieves for this young man who departed this Earth too soon. We had not yet recovered from the loss of his mother who passed December 2020. But we are comforted knowing that Levi and Anna are together again.
