Lelah M. Henderson, age 81, passed away March 19, 2011. Lelah was born December 18, 1929 in Kansas City, Missouri to Frank and Angie Hamilton. After graduating from Central High School, she married William Henderson in 1950. Lelah was a homemaker who was devoted to her children and volunteered many hours of service at their schools. In particular, she served on the School Board at O’Hara High School, where she was inducted into the Hall of Honor in 1994.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Angela Hamilton. Survivors include her Husband of 60 years, William; 4 children, Linda (Michael) Hennessy, Bill (Connie) Henderson, Kathleen Henderson, Patrick (Karen) Henderson; 7 grandchildren, Eric Fish, Mary Henderson, Patrick Hennessy, Erin, Daniel, Kevin, and Molly Henderson; sisters, Betty Uhl and Patricia Harden.
The Rosary will be prayed Wednesday March 23, at St. Catherine of Siena at 5:00 p.m. followed by the Visitation from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday March 24, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena, where she was a parishioner for over 54 years. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
