Kathleen C. Watts of Overland Park peacefully passed away in the company of family on Aug 30 at age 74 at Kansas City Hospice Center. Visitation will be at 10 am Saturday Sept 18 with a memorial service at 11 am at McGilley State Line Chapel.
Kay was born Sept 8, 1935 in Detroit, Michigan to Martin and Etta Mae Costello. She graduated from the University of Connecticut, class of '57, with a BS in Home Economics. She taught kindergarten in Stanford, Conn for two years.
Kay was an avid gardener. She became a National Flower Show judge, a Master Gardener, and a member of the Village Gardeners. She loved to play bridge, cook, sew, and do many other creative things.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father and by her 6 aunts who raised her in Shelton, Conn. She is survived by her husband of 52 years Ron Watts of the home, son Marty and wife Dorothy of Greer, SC, son Mark and wife Julie of Maui, HI, daughter Kathleen and Tom of Prairie Village, KS, and son Dan and wife Vickie of Kansas City, MO. also by her seven grandchildren; Deanna, Jenna, Zack, Taylor, Heather, Samantha, and Joey.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.
