June Elizabeth Hoppers, daughter of the late Edgar and Stella Henderson, was born August 6, 1928 at Tunas, Missouri, and passed away on Sunday December 3, 2017 at the age of 89. She was united in marriage to George Russell Hoppers on December 21, 1946 at Fort Scott, Kansas and to this union two children were born. After raising their family in Kansas City, June and Russell retired at the Lake of the Ozarks until his death November 15, 1998. June lived a few years in Fair Grove, Missouri, and Springfield, Missouri, finally settling in Bolivar, Missouri, until her health declined sending her to live with her daughter in Pleasant Hill, Missouri in 2015. June managed Chick school cafeteria from 1969 until she retired in 1982 as well as being a homemaker and mothering the 53rd and Myrtle gang. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bolivar. June was also a Gold Star mother. June was proceeded in death by her parents, her husband, her son Michael E Hoppers, two brothers Coval Henderson, Lemuel Henderson, two sisters Faye Mckindrey and Iris Wilkerson. June leaves to cherish her memory, her brother, Harold Henderson, Bolivar MO, her daughter, Kathy Drummond of the home, two grandsons Matthew Drummond, north Kansas City, Mark Drummond, Lee’s Summit, MO, one granddaughter Dawn Drummond, Lee’s Summit, MO, eight great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Memorial gifts have been suggested to the Disabled Veterans .
