Jose E. “Joe” Padilla, 45 of Kansas City, MO, died on Saturday, July 7, 2018. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at Guardian Angels Catholic Church, 1310 Westport Rd., with burial following in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 11 from 6-8 p.m. at the McGilley Midtown Chapel, 20 W. Linwood, KCMO, where the Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m.
Jose was born on March 19, 1973 in Jerez, Zacatecas, Mexico to Pablo and Celia (Enriquez) Garcia. He was a naturalized United States citizen. Jose worked as a corrections officer for Jackson County prior to his illness. Joe liked movies, particularly comedies. He loved to laugh. He was a disc golf enthusiast, and also loved music and dancing. He was preceded by his father, his stepfather, Joseph “Jose” Padilla, his grandparents, Dionicio ‘Nicho’ and Rita Enriquez and Enrique and Maxsimina (Ortega) Padilla. Jose is survived by his mother; two daughters, Emilia and Alejandra Padilla; and two brothers, Orlando and Fernando Padilla.
