Jon Patrick McKay

Jon Patrick McKay passed away on October 19, 2012. He was born on September 7, 1989, the son of Jon and Kristen McKay. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, October 23 at 11:00 a.m. at Cure of Ars Catholic Church, 9401 Mission Road Leawood, KS. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, October 22, from 5:00 p.m to 8:00 p.m at McGilley State Line Chapel, 12301 State Line Road, Kansas City, MO. In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be to Harvesters Community Food Network, 3801 Topping Ave, Kansas City, MO 64129.

Patrick had a passion for sports in particular playing for the recreational baseball team “The A’s”. He enjoyed watching sports including the Kansas City Royals. He was an extremely caring and kind hearted person who loved spending time with family and friends. Patrick was always there for anyone who needed help and always thought of others before himself. His witty sense of humor was there to brighten the lives of others. Patrick graduated from Blue Valley North High School in 2008. He was a wonderful human being and will truly be missed but not forgotten.

Patrick is preceded in death by his grandfather Charles P. McKay. He is survived by his parents, Jon and Kristen; sister, Mary Kate McKay; brother, Christopher Mann McKay; grandparents, Shirley McKay, Jeremy P. and Maryann Lumianski; aunts, Melinda Cutshall, Jennifer Johnson, Rebecca Lumianski, Sara Mogulescu-Lumianski, and Naida McKay; great aunt, Margie F. Barrett; uncles, David McKay, Geoff Johnson, Jeremy H. Lumianski, and Eric Cutshall; cousins, Andrew Johnson, Matt Johnson, Lauren Johnson, Jerry I. Lumianski, Amelia Lumianski, Peter and Deana Werkowitch, Aneisa Werkowitch, Megan Werkowitch, Kristen Werkowitch, Eric Cutshall Jr., and Skylar Cutshall.
