John Joseph Rode, 86, of Leawood, KS passed away Monday, January 14, 2013, at St. Joseph Medical Center. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 19th, from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m., at Cure of Ars Catholic Church, 9401 Mission Road, Leawood, KS, 66206. Mass of Christian Burial starts at 10:30 a.m., with burial following in Resurrection Cemetery.
John was born June 24th, 1926. He was preceded in death by his wife, Constance Jeannette Schweiger Rode. He is survived by daughters, Pamela Rode and Carolyn Rode-Bates, son-in-law, Jim Bates, grandson, Collin Bates, and granddaughters, Briana Anderson and Kelley Bates.
John was a veteran of WWII. He was employed as an engineer by Bendix/Honeywell for 35 years. He enjoyed music, playing the flute, and singing in the Cure of Ars church choir. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cure of Ars choir.
