Jessie Marie Bohner Brunner, 98, of Shawnee, KS died Saturday, October 27, 2012 at Sharon Lane Nursing Home where she spent her last years. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 3, 2012 at the McGilley Midtown Chapel. Burial will be in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday at the chapel.
Jessie was born January 10, 1914 in St. Joseph, MO to Matra and Rochdy Sadie (Sayeg) Bonabhan. She worked as a waitress in several of the dining rooms of hotels around Kansas City as well as the Twin Oaks. She was a ‘Rosie the Riveter’ during WWII in the Fairfax district building B25 bombers. Her favorite life activities were being with family, dancing, cooking and fishing. In addition to her parents, Jessie was preceded in death by her two husbands Bill Bohner and Walt Brunner, son William Bohner, siblings, Evan, Fred, George, Jimmy, Julie, Madelyn and Mike. Jessie’s survivors include her son Terry Bohner and wife Cheryl of Merriam, daughter-in-law Judy Bohner; 4 grandchildren, Logan Bohner, Brett Bohner, Brian Bohner and Courtney Smith (Tyler); three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
