Jerry was born to Gerald and Lucille Gear on November 28, 1939 in Marshalltown, Iowa. He was one of 5 children and leaves behind 2 siblings; Darrell (wife Linda) and Kay.
Jerry is survived by his significant other Melody, who was his rock for over 20 years and the love of his life. He is also survived by his sons Robert Gear (wife Amanda), Darrell Gear (wife Abbie), Shannon Gear, and stepdaughter Nichelle (husband Ryan) along with 7 grandchildren; Destiny, Zach, Couper, Mac, Ella, Kendall and Kylie. He was also survived by many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and his sisters, Mary Lou and Lavina.
He will also be missed by the friends he considered family in the racing community.
A celebration of life will be held February 24th, from 3-6pm at The Montgomery Venue in Excelsior Springs, MO. Please join us in honoring the life of Jerry.
