Born on July 26, 1984, Jared grew up in Kansas City, Missouri, and lived most of his life there.
In life, it would not have been a strange sight to see Jared in the center of a crowd that was roaring with laughter. He had an immense amount of energy and a desire to spark joy in others. Jared’s exuberance overflowed to those around him, and those who knew him have countless memories of his joyful spirit. Along with his infectious personality, Jared possessed a tremendous power of will that he put to use on many occasions.
Jared attended Kansas City Christian School from kindergarten through high school. During that time, he worked hard to obtain the rank of Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America. As a part of obtaining that rank, he planned and built an exterior storage room for a church in Kansas City that still stands today. At KCC, he was part of a high school soccer team that competed in three state title games, claiming the State Championship during his senior season. He graduated with honors from Kansas City Christian.
These achievements are a small glimpse of Jared’s will and drive. His charisma was also on display during that time in his life. He volunteered at his church in the children’s ministry. There he put on skits and spent time with the kids teaching them on Sunday mornings. Jared always had a warm heart toward children and was a loving teacher to those kids and many others that he encountered over the years.
Jared attended the University of Missouri where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. While attending Mizzou, he was a member of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity. During Jared’s senior year, he served as the Rush Chair for the fraternity. In that position he played a key part in recruiting a class of men who remain close as alumni. He was determined to be successful in that role among others. In that time, he became friends with many who enjoyed the fun and genuine spirit that Jared naturally expressed.
In his professional career in the insurance industry, Jared continued to better himself taking nine exams over a period of two years to obtain a prestigious CPCU underwriting designation as well as the ARM certification.
While all of these moments were a rich background for Jared, his greatest passion were his two children whom he dearly loved, George (7) and Ellen (5). His world revolved around them. Whether it was sharing time at the pool, park, soccer games or swim lessons, Jared, with the unwavering support of their mom Allison, always tried to make his children his highest priority.
Jared is survived by his father Bruce (Janie) Palmer and mother Page (Dave) Freeman, brother Brad
(Danielle) Palmer, sister Lacy (Austin) Tannous and Allison Laner, the mother of George and Ellen, along with many other friends and family members.
