Beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend Janet Ruth Hall was born in Kansas City, MO on April 18th, 1963. She spent her entire life in the Kansas City area and made quite the lasting impact on the community. Janet graduated from William Jewell College with a degree in education and went on to teach in the Hickman Mills school district for multiple decades. Later on, she spent some years teaching at Advent Lutheran Pre-school in Overland Park where she continued to make the closest of friends. Janet married her one true love, Gary Hall, on June 15th, 1985, who she met in youth group at Cavalry Baptist church at the young age of fourteen. Overall, Janet and Gary have spent almost fifty years together. On April 12th, 1991, she fulfilled her life-long dream of being a mom and welcomed her first daughter, Hannah Amelia Hall. Seven years later, Lilly (Lillian Margaret Hall) was brought into the world on August 1st, 1998. Thirty-one years after she became a mother herself, Janet met the fourth love of her life when her sweet granddaughter Emmy was born. Emmy brought more joy into her final years than anyone could imagine. Janet loved Gary and her girls more than anything in the entire world. She taught them how to love God, how to love others, and how to love each other. We will miss her beyond what words can adequately capture. She was a friend to all and a beautiful reflection of her lord and savior, Jesus Christ. It gives us great peace knowing she is pain free and full of joy in the presence of God.
Janet is preceded in death by her stepfather Gary Hoss, her father-in-law Leslie Hall, her mother-in-law Barbara Hall, and her brother-in-law Marvin Hall. She leaves behind her husband Gary, and daughters Hannah (Marcus) and Lilly (Trevor) and her Grandchildren, Lucas, Caroline, and Emmy Jo. She is also survived by her sisters Joann, Jill, Tricia, and Shawna as well as her mother Mary, father Blaine, and stepmother Jean.
Visitation will be held at the McGilley State Line Chapel (12301 State Line Road, Kansas City, Missouri) from 5pm to 7pm on Sunday, March 17th. A memorial service will be held at 10am on Monday, March 18th at Redeemer Fellowship (3921 Baltimore, Kansas City, Missouri) with burial to follow at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens in Olathe, Kansas.
The family of Janet Hall graciously suggest contributions be made to Cancer Action to honor her passion for supporting those who are battling cancer in the Kansas City area.
