Don Welch, of Overland Park, passed away on February 17, 2018. He was born on November 1, 1926 to James and Georgia Welch. He graduated from East High School, class of 1943. He joined the Navy immediately after high school receiving an honorable discharge in 1945. In 1956, he married the love of his life Donna Spivey. Don and Donna raised their family in Prairie Village until they moved to Crystal Lake, IL in 1976-1998.
He worked for the American Farm Bureau, which allowed them to travel internationally. He retired in 1989. Don loved to golf and enjoyed his Friday Night Poker games with his family.
He was preceded in death by his wife Donna, parents, and sister Georgia Jane Gray.
He is survived by his children; Lorrie (Kevin) Haller, Letty (Chris) Storm, Louise (Mike) Steinbach, Larry (Angela) Welch; grandchildren Katie Ruddick, Keri Haller, Allison Storm, Sara Storm, Patrick Storm, Joseph Storm, Bob Destree, Brittany Destree, Izzy Welch, Gabby Welch, Dani Welch; great-grandchildren James Ruddick, William Ruddick, Georgia Keeling and Luca Storm, and many cousins, nieces and, nephews.
