Jack E. Pelzer, 84, was caring, curious, and dedicated to causes in which he believed. He was born and raised in Ft. Thomas, KY where he received his early education at St. Thomas Catholic Elementary School and later attended Newport Catholic High School, Xavier High School, and Xavier University; graduating with a bachelor of science degree in Biology and Chemistry. He worked in the family grocery store and was a fruit and produce packaging sales representative for International Paper. Jack loved being a husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He loved to travel and adored his many dogs over the years. He was very involved in his church and in St.Vincent DePaul Society in St. Louis, Missouri before moving to Kansas in 2003. He always looked to give back to others. Jack will be remembered by his daughter Cathy Evers, and husband David and son Mike Pelzer and wife Debbie. As well as grandchildren Jana Evers Rojas and husband Jaime, Beth Evers, and Matthew Evers, Carissa Pelzer Jundt and husband Chris, Colleen Angers, Scott Barricllow, Andrea Barricllow and Sean Pelzer, and great grandchildren Elysa Rojas and Isla Rojas. The family wants to thank Kansas City Hospice House for their dedicated and compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kansas City Hospice House.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, September 4th, 1:00 p.m., at Church of the Nativity, 3800 West 119th, Leawood, KS. Visitation will be held from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m., one hour prior to the Mass. A second visitation will take place at Alexander-White-Mullen Funeral Home, 11101 Saint Charles Rock Road, St. Ann, MO, 63074, from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m., on Thursday, September 6th with burial following in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Florissant, MO.
