Helen Molder, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2023, at the age of 99. She will be remembered as a remarkable woman who filled her long life with love, warmth, and a passion for the things she held dear.
Helen was born on February 18, 1924 to her parents, Alois and Anna Ruzicka in Nebish, Minnesota. She was a survivor in every sense, outliving all her brothers and sisters. Her resilience and strength were qualities she carried throughout her life.
She had a zest for life that was truly inspiring. She had an unwavering love for the Kansas City Chiefs and in addition to her love for football, Helen was known for her culinary skills. She was an excellent baker and cook, and her kitchen was always filled with the delicious aroma of her homemade dishes. Friends and family cherished her meals and baked goods, which were a source of comfort and joy.
Helen was not just a spectator of life; she was an active participant. She worked until her late 70s, demonstrating a strong work ethic and a determination. Her dedication was a shining example to her children and all who knew her.
She was widowed for 39 years, but her husband, Jim, remained in her heart and memories. She held onto his love, and her unwavering dedication to her family was a testament to their enduring bond.
Helen is survived by her three loving children, eight grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, stepdaughter, and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom she cherished and supported throughout her life. Her legacy of love, strength, and resilience will live on through them.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Jim, and all her siblings. As we say goodbye to Helen, we remember the remarkable woman who touched our lives with her kindness, determination, and unwavering love.
A visitation will be held from 9-10 AM, service 10 AM, on Thursday, October 26, at Floral Hills Funeral Home and Cemetery, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64133. Burial will follow at Floral Hills Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the KC Hospice House, 12000 Wornall Rd, Kansas City, MO 64145.
She will be deeply missed but will live on in the hearts of those she loved and inspired.
