She was born to Mary Grendzinski O'Such Glad and Anthony Glad on December 23, 1927 in Kansas City, Missouri. She was married to Vernon E. Coit, Jr from 1947 until his death in 2000. She is survived by their sons, Daniel Coit and Gary Coit (Lauretta). Helen is also survived by four grandchildren, Geoffrey Coit, David Coit, James Coit, and Leanne Little, their spouses, and 12 great-grandchildren.
Helen was known as a gracious hostess, an avid bowler, and a willing volunteer. She was a Eucharistic minister at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, took communion to the sick at St. Joseph Hospital, and was active in the More Friends social group. She also volunteered at Seton Center. Helen worked at Bendix-Honeywell as a supervisor in the keypunch department for over thirty years. After retirement, she enjoyed traveling with Vernon. She was a member of the American Women's Business Association (ABWA) where she held various officer positions.
Helen was predeceased by her parents, husband, and eight sisters: Josephine Barnes, Bernice Greathouse, Gladys Friday, Mildred Pritchett, Pauline Kordasz, Joan Hess, MaryAnn Liveley, and Margaret Coit-Murray.
Graveside services were private. Helen is entombed with her husband Vernon in the Faith Mausoleum at Mount Moriah Cemetery.
