He is survived by his wife Lela White of 57 years and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and many friends.
Harry was born November 26, 1936 in Noel, Missouri to the late William and Lavern White. After graduating from Noel High School he joined the Air Force. After serving 4 years Harry went to Barber College in Kansas City, Missouri. After graduating from barber college Harry started barbering for the next 42 years. He loved his profession and made many friends. He got to cut local celebrities and a few movie stars. He was well known by TWA pilots for his crew cuts and flat tops. Harry also enjoyed giving kids there 1st hair cut.
Harry enjoyed fishing, dancing, playing cards, shooting pool, gardening, watching old westerns and attending Royals and Chiefs games. He was a member of the American Legion Post 21 in Independence and DAV in Independence.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Shirley O'Bryan and sister Jean Summerlin.
A memorial visitation for Harry will be held Saturday, April 16, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at McGilley & Sheil Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 11924 East 47th Street, Kansas City, MO 64133, followed by a funeral service starting at 11:00 AM. Burial will be at a later date at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, Missouri. In lieu of flowers family suggests memorial gifts be made to American Legion Post 21 Independence, Missouri building fund or a charity of your choice.
