Harold W. Elliott, son of Lawrence and Selma Elliott, was born on February 14, 1927 in Kansas City, Missouri and passed away January 20, 2017. Harold’s family moved to Jefferson City, Missouri where he would later graduate from Jefferson City High School. He married Betty D. Goff on May 31, 1947. Shortly thereafter Harold entered the U.S. Army. After military service, Harold and Betty moved to Kansas City where he attended Rockhurst College.
Harold began his career in Kansas City at Panhandle Eastern Pipeline Company in 1951 and retired in 1984. He was a lifelong learner and was very well versed in technology even in his later days of life. He loved to spend his time reading daily. He set up a church website and managed their sound system. He was the treasurer of his local AARP Chapter.
Harold is survived by his wife Betty Dean, daughter Cheryl Bronson, son Jeffrey Elliott, three grandsons John Trussell, Sam Elliott and Zachary Ledsworth, and five great-grandchildren Alexis, Christian and McKayla Ledsworth, and Elliott and Jackson Trussell.
Visitation will be from 12:00-1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 11, followed by a celebration of life service at 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested contributions in his honor to Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675.
