Eileen, also known as “GiGi” to those closest to her, and known as “Bub” by her Ozarks Family, lived a rich full life. After attending CMU, now known as University of Central Missouri, she took her first career teaching in Gravois Mills, MO. She also worked as a phone operator for Bell Telephone. She married Arthur E. Doherty a Master Sgt. in the United States Air force and traveled all over the United States including living in Japan. While traveling the world she worked under contract as a supply officer for the air force. After traveling she settled down in Belton, Missouri and went to work on Richards Gebaur AFB in civil service. Here she rose to the rank of Chief Supply and contracting officer. She obtained numerous awards and accolades for her outstanding service in her role, which she retired from in 1992. In her later life she was very active with her church, Raymore Christian Church.
Eileen was preceded in death by her husband, Bud Miles who passed away in 1998; her brothers, Raymond “Tude” Morrison, and Billy Wayne “Red” Morrison; and her sister, Patsy Sue Morrison.
Eileen is survived by her son, David E. Doherty and his significant other Terri Palmer of Gravois Mills, Missouri; her daughter, Jane Doherty Peternel and her husband Mike of Arizona; her sister-in-law, Norma Morrison of Missouri; her grandchildren, David M. Doherty and wife Krista of Missouri, Darren Doherty and wife Sara of Missouri, Dawn Daugherty and husband Michael of Arizona, and Heather Mortimer and husband John of New Jersey; she was a proud great-grandmother to Kaelyn Mills, Kevin Eason Jr., Addison, Charlotte, Graham, Mia, and the many who live out of state; she was a caring aunt for her many nieces and nephews including, Valerie Galloway, Deanna Dinkel, and Craig Morrison all of Missouri.
A visitation for Eileen will be held Tuesday, October 1, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, MO 64131. A funeral service will follow from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. With a committal service concluding services in Mount Moriah Cemetery.
