Grace Rosalind Wagner

Born December 28, 1922 in St. Louis, Missouri and died August 27, 2017 in Olathe, KS.

Grace created a home full of love and kindness and was devoted to her husband Fran and her children. She maintained a smooth-running and calm household despite a couple of unruly dogs and 8 kids. She was an astute bridge player, a foe to be reckoned with on the tennis court, a loyal fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, and an adventurous world traveler with Fran. Grace was a member of St. Clement Catholic Church in Des Peres, MO for nearly 50 years and her lifelong deep faith was a sustaining source of joy and strength. She was a loving, playful, compassionate wife and mother and all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren enjoyed time spent with “Grannie Gracie.” She lived a full life with integrity, a sense of humor, and grace.

Preceded in death by parents August and Catherine Sommer and 5 siblings. Survived by husband of 74 years, Francis J. Wagner Jr., eight children Catherine (Alan) Wagner, Gregory (Nancy) Wagner, Janet (Jim) Schaefer, Mary Anderson, Tess (Frank) Hughes, Carolyn (Mike) Maphies, Anne McGovern, Steve (Leslie) Wagner, 18 grandchildren/spouses Jennifer, Stephanie, Jake, Julia/Steven, Anna/Pete, Noel, Angie/Eric, Laura/Lewis, Nora/Adam, Jim Jr./Melissa, Jeff, Adam/Georgia, Denise/Colin, Nick/Kim, Emily/John, Lindsay/Ben, Jessica, Alex and 19 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In Kansas City, on Thursday, August 31, 2017, visitation 4:30-7:30 p.m. at McGilley State Line Chapel, 12301 State Line Rd., Kansas City, MO. Rosary at 7:00 p.m.

In St. Louis, on Saturday, September 2, 2017, visitation 9:00 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Clement Catholic Church, 1510 Bopp Rd., Des Peres, MO 63131.
