Glenda K. (Cobb) North, 83, of Independence, MO, was surrounded by her loving family when she went peacefully home to the Lord on Sunday, February 13, 2022. Services will be held at the McGilley & Sheil Chapel, 11924 E. 47th St., Kansas City, MO 64133, on Saturday, February 19, 2022. Memorial Service at 2pm with visitation beginning one hour prior.
Glenda was born on August 20, 1938 to Edgar and Maro (Huber) Cobb in Branch, MO. Glenda attended Mack’s Creek High School and graduated as Valedictorian in 1956. At the age of 20, Glenda married her one true love and best friend, Arthur, on October 13, 1958 in Kansas City, MO. They were married for 63 years.
While Arthur was enlisted in the US Army, Glenda moved to Grossauheim, Germany so they could be together. After spending a year in Germany they returned to Kansas City and in 1962 moved to Independence, MO. In 1971, they welcomed their daughter, Jennifer. Glenda worked for Amoco Oil Company as a Payroll Clerk until her retirement in 1988. After retiring, Glenda enjoyed spending her time helping Arthur with their garden and spending time at their lake house at Lake of the Ozarks. Glenda enjoyed spending time with all of her family, including her granddaughters. Glenda was a longtime member of Blue Ridge Baptist Temple in Kansas City, MO.
Glenda was proceeded in death by her parents; her sister, Maxine McClanahan and her brother, Fred Cobb. She is survived by her husband, Arthur of the home; her daughter, Jennifer Kincheloe (Kevin) of Independence, MO; her granddaughters, Christina North Gomez (Corey)and Carmen Kincheloe both of Independence, MO; a great granddaughter, Aaliyah; a great grandson arriving in June; her sister, Freda Osborn of Clinton, MO; her sister-in-law, Donna Cobb of Springfield MO; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
