Gary Alan Winemiller of Cape Coral, Florida died April 19, 2014. He was born May 17, 1947 in Kansas City, Missouri to Albert and Virginia Winemiller. He graduated from Southwest High School in Kansas City and Missouri Valley College in Marshall, Missouri with a degree in Psychology with honors. He was a member of Broadway United Methodist Church. Gary earned the rank of Eagle Scout, was a member of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say and attended Philmont Scout Ranch. Gary taught Psychology at Winnetonka High School, worked in sales of real estate, sports gear and MICROS restaurant systems.
Gary lived in Kansas City, Boston, Council Bluffs, Iowa and Chicago but followed his heart to Florida where he lived most of his life continuing his love of fishing. In 2009 he married Jacqueline Orong of the Philippines. Gary kept in touch with friends and family and always tried to put a smile on everyone’s face. He loved his cats, Chumley and Autumn.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Virginia Winemiller, and infant brother, William Austin Winemiller. He is survived by his wife Jacqueline Winemiller, brother Bert (Debby) Winemiller, sister Wanda (Tom) Wilson, nieces and nephews Albert (Misty) Winemiller, Shauna (Dave) Eastwood, Michael (Linea) Wilson, Jeff Wilson, Holly (Billy) Manes, Chad (Tiffany) Sobella, 11 great-nephews and nieces, and many good friends. Gary will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered.
A celebration of Gary’s life will be held Saturday, August 16 at 4:00 p.m. at Mount Moriah Cemetery, Chapel of Hope, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri.
