Gary was born April 26, 1952 in Kansas City, Missouri to Samuel and Cecilia Orlando. He graduated from Ruskin High School in 1970. After High School, Gary joined the US Air Force and served in the Vietnam War. Gary started a family that has grown over the years. He was known to be supportive of family and friends, especially when in need. Gary was a sweet, fun-loving guy that anyone was lucky to know.
He was preceded in death by his father Samuel Orlando, his mother Cecilia Astry (Orlando) and brother-in-law James Cross. Survivors included one sister CC Cross, and one brother Jim Orlando (Sue), four sons; Michael Orlando (Jenn), Ryan Orlando, Dominic Orlando (Madison), and Robbie Keays, four grandchildren, and many more family and friends whom he loved dearly.
The family will be hosting combined services for Cecilia Astry and her son Gary Orlando, on December 2nd, 2023 at Floral Hills Funeral Home (7000 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64133). The visitation is from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, followed by a Memorial Service at 10:00 AM. Following services there will be a graveside service with honors for Gary at Mt. Olivet Cemetery (7601 Blue Ridge Blvd, Raytown, MO 64138).
