Elvira Garcia

Elvira Garcia passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, December 8, 2015, surrounded by her family. She was born June 12, 1920 in Frontenac, KS. Elvira grew up in Richmond, MO where she met and married her husband Torivio O. Garcia on January 23, 1939. They had 14 children and were happily married for 43 years before his death in February of 1982. She was preceded in death by her children Carmella Jauregui, Phillip Garcia, Mary Costello, Louis Andrew Garcia, Torivio Garcia, Jr., Ricardo Garcia and Anthony Garcia.

She is survived by her two sisters, Lucy Pacheco and Margaret Diaz; her children, Carmen Williams, Roberta Garcia, Micaela Escareno (Jose), Christina Valdivia, Guadalupe Garcia (Linda), Angel Garcia (Patricia) and Pedro Louis Garcia; 29 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren and one great-great-great granddaughter.

Visitation will be 6-8 pm Friday, December 11 at McGilley Midtown Chapel, 20 W., Linwood Blvd., KCMO, where the rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am Saturday, December 12, 2015 at Sacred Heart/Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 2544 Madison Avenue, KCMO. Burial will be in Mt.
