Eileen was born on July 23, 1952, to Harold and Martha Browning in Kansas City, Mo. After graduating from Southwest High School, she went on to get her degree in Elementary Education at the University of Missouri Kansas City. After graduation, Eileen taught elementary school in the Kansas City area for a short time prior to beginning her 35-year career working for the United States Marine Corps and Department of Defense. Eileen was very proud knowing the work she did was helping to ensure that Marines around the globe were being paid accurately and on time. After her retirement, the American flag was hoisted and lowered atop the USMC War Memorial as a tribute to her service.
While working at the Bannister Federal complex, Eileen met the love of her life Alvin Wagner. They were married on September 18th, 1976, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Independence, MO. During their 47 years of marriage, they enjoyed taking trips together to Mexico, the Caribbean and were avid fans of the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals. Eileen had an eye for design and enjoyed decorating the homes her and Al built together. She had a green thumb, spending each Spring planting flowers and caring for her vast array of houseplants. She was a talented seamstress and took joy in sewing Easter dresses for her granddaughters, and numerous items to decorate her home. A devoted mother to her daughter Tracy and son Terry, Eileen also had a great affection for her grandkids. She was a devout member of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod and had strong conservative principles.
Eileen was preceded in death by her father Harold, mother Martha, and her daughter Tracy Allison. She is survived by her husband Alvin, her son Terry (Erin) Wagner, and her grandchildren Tyler, Terrin, Evelyn Wagner who reside in Indianapolis, IN.
