Doris was born December 11, 1926, in Sedalia Missouri, to Norvel Adelbert Lane and Gertrude Neizert Lane, the fifth child of a family of eight children.
Doris attended Quisenberry Elementary School for eight years, and was an honor graduate of Smith Cotton High School in 1945. She also attended Central Business College of Sedalia. Doris was employed by Prudential Insurance Company for several years. On September 3, 1950, at Camp Branch Baptist Church, she was united in marriage to Richard Leon Warren, who preceded her in death on January 3, 1983.
They were the parents of three sons, David Lane Warren wife Kelly of Kearney, MO, Richard Niel Warren of Independence, MO, Mark Leon Warren wife Bobbi of Lee's Summit, MO, and one daughter, Alice Diane Warren Hancock of Independence, MO, all of whom are left to cherish her memory. She had twelve (12) grandchildren and twenty (20) great-grandchildren.
Doris was a Christian and attended Country Meadows Baptist Church for many years, and more recently, North Plains Baptist Church, where her son David is the minister.
Doris loved gardening and raising flowers, and recently wrote a book about her life as a child on the farm. She also played the piano and a little guitar and would be assistant pianist at church when needed.
Westbrook Villas, Independent Living Apartments, Kearney, MO, was her home for the past four years. She moved to her new home in Heaven on February 17, 2022.
