Donna was born January 17, 1937, in Independence, Missouri, the daughter of Don Arnold Bright and Faye Vida (Qualls) Bright. She graduated from Central High School in Kansas City, MO, in 1955. She was united in marriage to Chilton Curtis Christopher on June 16, 1957.
When she wasn’t spending her time as wife, mother & super grandma, she used her skills as a waitress, data transcriber for the IRS, a real estate agent, part owner of a ceramic shop in Lee's Summit, and owner and operator of a World Wide Stereo store in Raytown with her husband, Chilton. She also made and sold dolls with her sister, Linda Scarborough. She was a member of the Martha Chapter #169, Order of the Eastern Star in Odessa, MO.
Survivors include two sons, Mark Christopher and wife Jenny, of Caddo Mills, TX; and Thomas Christopher and wife Sheila, of Holden, MO; five grandchildren, Lacey Beals and husband Matt of Altoona, IA; Vanessa Simmons and husband Matt of Pleasant Hill, MO; Curtis Christopher and fiancé Kelli Reinhardt of Pleasant Hill, MO; Lori Howell and husband Stephen, of Caddo Mills, TX; and Sara Christopher of Caddo Mills, TX; six great-grandchildren, Ella, Ashlynn and Audrey Beals, of Altoona, IA; Tristan Simmons of Pleasant Hill, MO; Sophia and Julia Howell of Caddo Mills, TX; a sister, Linda Scarborough and husband Roy of Blue Springs, MO, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Don and Faye Bright, sister, Norma Houghton and husband, Chilton Christopher.
Services will be held at Floral Hills Funeral Home, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64133, on Friday, February 23, 2018. Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. with service to follow at 2:00 p.m.
