Donald Ray Lane, 79, Kansas City North, passed away January 25, 2013 at North Kansas City Hospital. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 29th at the Claycomo Baptist Church, 312 E Longfellow, Claycomo, MO; burial in the Wills Cemetery, Peculiar, MO. Visitation is scheduled from 6-8 PM Monday at the McGilley Antioch Chapel. In lieu of flowers contributions are suggested to the Tribe of Mic-O-Say Endowment Fund.
Donald was born March 29, 1933 to Hugh and Iva (Harding) Lane in Nashville, KS. He married Velma L. Archer on August 26, 1951. Donald also lived in the Grandview, Raymore and Warsaw communities. He worked for 33 years for Prudential Insurance and during his career received 3 President’s Citations. He was a 25 year member of the Boy Scouts and served as Scout Master of Troop 279. He was a keeper of the Wampam in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. Donald was a member of the Claycomo Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Velma, brothers Benny, Dwight, Webster, Wiley and John, and his sister, Mildred.
Survivors include son, Ronald Lane and wife, JoAnn, Warsaw, MO; daughter, Debbie Stoll and husband, James, Peculiar, MO; grandchildren, Josh Lane and wife, Joni, Macks Creek, MO, Lorri Lane and fiancé Jeremy Vickers, Raymore, MO, Jodi Price and husband, Rick, Raymore, MO, Tucker Lane and wife Kacie, Warsaw, MO, Tiffany Green and husband, Landon, San Diego, CA, Jacob Stockdale and wife, Stephanie, Fort Riley, KS, and Rainey Stoll, Peculiar, MO; 11 great grandchildren; 2 sisters-in-law, Martha Lane and Violet Hoenshell; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pa loved to tell jokes and stories, wrestle his grandchildren and great grandchildren, and had a passion for fishing and hunting.
