Dolores Montgomery

Dolores “Gus” Montgomery, 81, passed away December 12, 2010 in Kansas City, MO. Dolores was born August 20, 1929 in Bethany, MO to Frank and Ruth Ramey. She married Cheryl Montgomery in 1949 and they spent 60 years together before his death in 2009.

Dolores and Cheryl worked together for many years, with her supporting his business with Dartell Laboratories. After retirement, they traveled in their RV and enjoyed their four granddaughters.

Dolores was preceded in death by her husband, Cheryl; her parents; half-brother Verlie Ramey and half-sister, Mildred Pricer. She is survived by her son Marco and Melissa Montgomery and daughter Kay and Thomas McMillan, Kansas City; granddaughters Courtney and Rachel McMillan and Jessica and Ashley Montgomery; sister-in-law Carolyn Montgomery, Bethany, MO ; brother- and sister-in-law Cloyce and Elaine Montgomery, Hobbs, NM; several nieces and nephews and numerous friends.

Dolores was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She lived her life serving others and will be missed by all who knew her.

The family wishes to thank the staff of the northland Galway Home, who cared for Dolores so lovingly for the last several months of her life, and to the caregivers from Creative Care who were like part of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Dolores’ memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, 3846 W. 75th St., Prairie Village, KS 66208. Visitation will be Thursday, December 16th from 1:00-2:00PM, followed by services at 2:00 PM at McGilley Antioch Chapel, 3325 NE Vivion Rd, Kansas City. Graveside services will be held Friday, December 17th at 2:00 PM at Allen Cemetery, Eagleville, MO.
