David was born July 18, 1949, to Leo Farrell and Hilda (Schwarzer) Farrell in Atchison, KS. David is survived by his wife of 34 years, Jeri (Short) Farrell, of Overland Park; his son, Chris Farrell, of Kansas City, MO; his daughter, Beth Adams, and her husband Grant, of Overland Park; his brother, Larry Farrell, and his wife, Linda, of Denver, CO; his mother-in-law, Arotha Short, of Shawnee; and many nieces and nephews.
David was a loving and devoted husband and father. He cherished spending time with his family and making them laugh and feel loved every day. He never hesitated to share his time and wisdom with family or friends. David was a caring, loyal friend to many. In addition to his family and friends, he loved college basketball, traveling, and boating at the Ozarks.
In 1982, David joined NorthMarq Capital where he rose to the position of Executive Vice President and Managing Director. He received NorthMarq’s President’s award in 1993 and was a designated Counselor of Real Estate. His colleagues viewed him as pillar of the company and the industry, as well as a man of true values.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, at McGilley State Line Chapel, 12301 State Line Road, Kansas City, MO, preceded by the Holy Rosary at 3:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Monday, Sept. 10, at Church of the Ascension, 9510 W. 127th Street, Overland Park, KS.
