He was born April 14, 1992, in Blue Springs, MO, the much-loved son of Mark D. and Susan (Gordon) Reardon. Daniel was an active youth, participating in scouting, baseball, music, and theatre groups. As he advanced through school, his focus narrowed to performance arts and his love of being "on stage." He graduated in 2010 from Blue Valley High School where he excelled in speech and theatre activities. He was involved with the forensics and debate team, and had numerous roles in dramas, musicals, and comedies. As a graduating senior, Daniel was awarded 2010 Thespian of the Year at BVHS.
His talent earned Daniel a theatre scholarship to Emporia State University in Emporia, KS, and he graduated from there in 2014 with a bachelor's degree in Communications and a minor in Theatre. While there, he performed and assisted with several productions and made many friends on campus. Daniel was a teaching assistant for one of his speech professors during his final two semesters. He also was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity, serving as vice president his junior year and chapter president his senior year. He often said that pledging the fraternity was the best decision he made during his college career, as it provided him a lifelong brotherhood.
Following graduation, Daniel lived in Kansas City, MO, where he had a wide circle of friends and enjoyed many aspects of living in the city. He was a loyal Royals and Chiefs fan, of course. For the past 5 years he has been employed as a logistics coordinator for Echo Global Logistics of Overland Park, KS.
Although Daniel grew up in the suburbs and currently lived in the city, he also had the pleasure of being exposed to country life, riding 4-wheelers, fishing, and shooting guns on his grandparents' farm. Daniel loved to travel on family vacations and considered himself fortunate to have been able to explore many locations, including both coasts, DC, the Rockies, Hawaii, and the Caribbean. He especially loved hiking the Grand Canyon, swimming with dolphins, white-water rafting, hiking and biking in the mountains, among other adventures over the years.
Those who knew and loved Daniel best would say that he was blessed with the gifts of being a good listener, a talented performer, and having the ability to make people laugh. Daniel's quirky, dry sense of humor coupled with subtleness and sarcasm could always elicit a giggle (or a belly-laugh) from his friends and family. He had broad knowledge of old movies, facts about entertainers, and other trivial information. He said on more than one occasion that he was the "king of useless information."
Daniel was preceded in death by his grandparents, Daniel E. and Ruth Reardon, and Edith Gordon. He is survived by a family that loved him unconditionally; his parents of Overland Park, KS; grandfather, Bill Gordon, Mendon, MO; sister and brother-in-law, Lauren and Terran Jennings, Kansas City, MO; brother, Sean Reardon and companion, Chloe Ross, Omaha, NE; and special cousin and spouse, Katheryn (Gordon) and Thomas Sidor, Olathe, KS. Other survivors include four uncles and aunts, Daniel C. and Elizabeth Reardon, Rolla, MO; Rob and Linda Gordon, Boonville, MO; Rick and Karen Gordon, Norwood, MO; Dan and Pam Gordon, Liberty, MO., as well as 10 additional first cousins, 8 great-aunts and uncles, numerous second cousins, and many devoted friends.
