Dan was born March 30, 1949 in Excelsior Springs , Missouri to Ruth Clevenger Flannery Hull and Lewis D. Flannery. He is survived by his sister, Kathie Mason, Liberty and his business partner and dear friend of 35 years, Judy Barlow.
After graduating from Excelsior Springs High School in 1967, he continued his education at UMKC, majoring in Fine Arts.
A creative spirit, Dan pursued a career in interior design. In 1972 he founded Superlatives, a gift, furniture, and antiques specialty store. His elegant, innovative yet traditional style was reflected in the store. Legions of clients and friends will miss his dry wit, incredible talent and generous, kind heart.
A private family service will be held at the Old New Garden Cemetery in Excelsior Springs, MO. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Luke’s Hospice House or the Excelsior Springs Museum and Archives, 101 E Broadway, Excelsior Springs, MO 64024 or the charity of your choice.
