Dakota Alexander Durocher, 16, of Stilwell, KS passed away September 12, 2022. Dakota was born November 16, 2005 in Kansas City, MO. He was a junior at Blue Valley High School. He worked in the Lawn & Garden department at South Overland Park WalMart. Dakota loved to play video games with his dad and brother, spending time with his older sister where he could be the "man in charge" or a little kid again when it came to his younger sister. He enjoyed family board game night, especially if food was involved. He occasionally volunteered at a local church helping Food Harvesters distributions. He was a happy and healthy teen who always had a smile and laughed even when it wasn't needed.
Dakota was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Deborah Roam and Cheryl Pence. Survivors include parents Stephanie and Bobby Sandnes, older sister Jordan Durocher, younger brother Damien Sandnes, younger sister Teagan Sandnes, and longtime girlfriend Esther Boyd.
Visitation will be Saturday September 17, 2022 from 3:00-5:00 pm at McGilley State Line Chapel, 12301 State Line Road, Kansas City, MO.
