Command Sergeant Major Charles Martin Arnold (ret), Naval veteran of World War II and retired member of the Missouri National Guard, was born February 5, 1922 and passed away on August 1, 2017. Charlie (as everyone knew him) was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Austin Arnold and Alice Gladys Klein Lentz; his wife Dolores, the mother of his children; his wife Betty, companion of his later years; and his granddaughter, Laura Marie.
Charlie is survived by his brother Richard Arnold; Charlie's children and their spouses; daughter Emily and husband Piper Wrigley, sons Timothy Arnold and wife Leslie, Kevin Arnold and wife Nancy, John Arnold and wife Becky, Patrick Arnold and wife Linda, and son Phillip Arnold; stepdaughter Linda Ratcliff and husband Mike and stepson Larry Plunkett. Charlie also leaves a "dynasty" of grandchildren: David Flynn, Steven Flynn, Jason Arnold, Dawn Arnold Nichols, Erik Arnold, Matthew Arnold, Anthony Arnold, Stephanie Shade, Ian Arnold, Darrin Arnold, Byron Arnold, Sarah Arnold and step-grandchildren John and Ann. Also in this "dynasty" are now eight great grandchildren: Timothy Anstead, Jeremy Ledbetter, Zachary Ledbetter, Madison Flynn, Gabriel Flynn, Hannah Flynn, Andrew Nichols, and Donovan Shade; two great-great grandchildren; Abel Ledbetter and Asher Anstead: and also many nieces and nephews.
Charlie had many special friends over his long life but none more so than Pam and Chuck Harding, who have both done so much to care for him since Betty's passing, for which the family is forever grateful and thankful.
The family also thanks Crossroads Hospice for their care of our father in his last days and those special caretakers at Foxwood Springs, too many to list, that helped him along the way.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, please make a donation to either St. Sabina Catholic Church in Belton, MO or to a charity of your choice.

Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00am followed by funeral service at 11:00am Friday, August 4,ar Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road. Burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
