Carl A. Anderson, 81, Kansas City, Missouri, passed away October 5, 2011 at Kansas City Hospice House. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 8, at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road. Burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Mr. Anderson was born December 4, 1929 in Kansas City, Missouri, son of Evans F. and Ruby V. (Lindstrom) Anderson. He was a United States Army veteran, serving during the Korean War and was stationed from Guam to Austria. He worked as a communication installer for 35 years when he retired. He loved the outdoors and nature, especially the changes of seasons. He was an avid reader. Carl enjoyed his Friday card games with the guys, and dancing with his lady friend. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, 33rd Degree Scottish Rite, and belonged to the Ararat Shrine. He was very proud of being a full blooded Swede. He was a loving husband, father and adoring grandfather. Mr. Anderson was preceded in death by his parents, wife Norma J. Anderson, son Scott Anderson, sister Marjorie Hood and brother Duane Anderson. He is survived by his son Brian L. and wife Sherri Anderson, Independence, Missouri; daughter Carla M. and husband Richard Wall, Lake Lotawana, Missouri; sister Victoria and husband Carrol Britain, Merriam, Kansas; grandchildren Jesse Anderson, Samantha Wall and Valerie Wall; nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.
