Bob Powell

Robert was born April 15, 1939 to Helen and Joseph Powell in Kansas City, MO. Robert (Bob) lived his entire life in Kansas City, where he met his wife of 52 years, Becky (deceased 2017). Bob graduated from Central High School in 1957, followed by attendance at Kansas City, MO Junior College. He went on to the University of Kansas and graduated in 1962 with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. Following his graduation from KU he embarked on his career with Bendix KC (now Honeywell). He completed a MS in Electrical Engineering at the University of Missouri while working full-time and beginning a family. He retired from Honeywell after an inspiring career that spanned 40 years, and then launched a home remodeling company in partnership with a good friend. Bob was a firm believer in “measure twice, cut once”. His precision was evident in every project he tackled, including fine tuning the art of creating wood bowls from rare and beautiful woods.

Bob is preceded in death by his wife, Becky and his mother and father. He is survived by his daughter Stacy, son Steven, grandchildren Morgan Rose, Jordan Rose, Jackson Rose, Emma Rose, Coah Powell and his brother Jim Powell.

Friends and family are welcome to join our Celebration of Life on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at McGilley State Line Chapel, 12301 State Line Road, Kansas City, MO.
