A Visitation is scheduled from 10:00 - 10:45 AM Thursday, November 5th, Rosary prayed at 10:45 AM, with the Mass of Christian Burial following at 11:00 AM, all at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Kansas City, MO. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the St. Charles School Fund.
Bob was born on March 21, 1936 in Nevada, Missouri. He graduated from Nevada High School in 1953 and relocated to Kansas City to work for Hallmark Cards Inc. Bob worked at Hallmark for 38 years before retiring in December of 1991. He met the love of his life, Barbara DiiBon in the fall of 1957. They were married on April 12, 1958.
Throughout his life, Bob was involved with the Gladstone Jaycee's and the Knights of Columbus Tri-County Council 3414. He was very active with his two sons with the Boy Scouts of America. He spent many summers coaching baseball with them and attended several sessions at H. Roe Bartle Scout Camp with them, also. He was especially proud of his sons achieving Eagle Scout. Bob was an honorary warrior of the tribe of Mic-O-Say. He held many different offices including, Grand Knight in the Knights of Columbus and has been a member of St. Charles parish for 59 years.
Preceding him in death, his wife of 45 years Barbara and an infant son, Edward Brian.
Bob is survived by his brother, Henry Hochstatter and wife, Lois; four children, Julie and Jim Holter, Sherri Hochstatter, Jim and Rose Hochstatter, and Dan and Laura Hochstatter; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Steven and Jackie Holter, Amanda and Blake Evans, Katie and Jack Wood, Nick Hochstatter, Sierra, Haley and Nate Hochstatter; one great-grandson, Oliver Holter; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
